Peterborough Christmas Fireworks

If you thought that you had seen last of the annual fireworks then think again because Peterborough is planning another firework extravaganza to launch their Christmas light switch on and festive fun event. In line with most of the London events, Peterborough is switching on their lights on 9th November but they are not just making do with a couple of hours in the evening, their event is set to start at 12 pm and go on until well after 8 pm!

If you happen to be in the town centre on the day then be prepared to have your ears bombarded with Christmas carols, slapstick comedy from the cast of the local pantomime and music from the local Heart FM radio. The lights go on at 6 pm which are then followed by a huge fireworks display in Cathedral square.

The local shops at the Queensgate centre plan to make the most of the late opening hours and many shops have sale events which are available only for the day so if you did want to start your Christmas shopping early then now is the chance to bag those bargains.
